摘要
Ni1-xFexO nanoparticles were synthesized by heat treatment at 600 degrees C of the powder resulting from lyophilization of the aqueous mixture of nickel and iron acetate, and their photocatalytic properties were tested. The nano -particles were preliminarily characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier -transform infrared spectroscopy, and UV-VIS diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The results revealed mono -phasic samples up to x = 0.04 and that increasing iron concentration decreased the particle size and bandgap. The photocatalytic activity of Ni1-xFexO (x = 0.00, 0.02 and x = 0.04) samples under UV irradiation was investigated using the Reactive Blue 250 as a molecule test. Photocatalytic tests showed that Ni0.98Fe0.02O nanoparticles performed the best, which was attributed to the bandgap of this sample, presenting the smallest among the tested samples.
