摘要
Studies on the level of vulnerability of the population over the last few years have become increasingly important as they seek to identify areas or population groups subject to or exposed to vulnerabilities. The present work evaluated the level of socio-environmental vulnerability of the city of Arapiraca, adapting the methodological aspects of the research of Lopes (2013) and Adger (2006) for the creation of criteria and indicators to identify the Socio-environmental Vulnerability Index (IVSA) of the city. On a scale of 0.0 (minimum value) to 1.0 (maximum value), the analysis of the indicators found an index of 0.35 that places the city of Arapiraca at a low vulnerability level. The criterion that decisively influences the Socio-environmental Vulnerability Index of Arapiraca-AL is the from sensitivity. This criterion evaluated the dimension of social risk with the characteristics of the population in order to demonstrate the fragility when exposed to harm, having the largest number of indicators, seven in total. The values obtained by each indicator were satisfactory and inevitably stood out in relation to the others. It is concluded that in the city of Arapiraca they could be socially independent to be located in environmentally independent areas.
