摘要：

This article presents the conference Organisms, evolution and knowledge that took place on April 21 and 28, 2023 in Modena. The common thread that links the panels is the concept of "evolution", from its origin to contemporary epigenetic discoveries. The reconstruction of a fragmented debate across different interpretations and misunderstandings of Charles Darwin's theory is not an easy task but is nonetheless crucial to illuminate the very inner process of science as a whole: on the one hand, the non-linear product of fallible human minds in conflict with each other; on the other, the only reliable method for understanding bits and pieces of the world around us.
