摘要
With the dawn of the new century, product-based companies have undergone a transformative evolution by embracing servitization, integrating services into their traditional product offerings. This phenomenon represents a form of product-service innovation aimed at enhancing competitiveness while fostering economic, social, and environmental sustainability. While substantial research has focused on the economic impact of servitization, its effects on social and environmental aspects, particularly within Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM), have received limited attention. This special issue delves into the intricate relationship between product-service innovation and GSCM, exploring four key themes: (i) the role of new technologies in enhancing environmental performance, (ii) the influence of sustainable practices on firm performance, (iii) the synergistic effects of technological innovation, and (iv) the product lifecycle as an integrative element. By examining the interplay between technological advancements, sustainability values, and corporate competitiveness, this editorial presents a conceptual model that highlights the vital role of sustainability in mediating the relationship between technological change and competitiveness. This model also reveals that product-service innovation holds substantial potential for enhancing environmental and financial performance. The work concludes by providing several opportunities for further research endeavors in this promising field.
