摘要
Cancer is a progressive disease that is caused by a combination of factors, including one's genetics, environment, and lifestyle choices. The pillars of cancer management include chemotherapy, surgical procedures, and radia-tion therapy; however, a wide variety of therapeutic combinations involving these and other therapies are also utilised. Despite its low success rate, chemotherapy remains the standard gold treatment. Drug carrier systems have been developed to address major challenges such as poor drug penetration and resistance. Future drug delivery systems should be based on chitosan liposomes because of their advantages, versatility, and ease of manufacture. In this article, we'll look at how liposomes based on chitosan can be used to treat several types of cancer through several different routes. Liposomes have been used in immunotherapy, and they can be engi-neered to respond to photothermal therapy as well as chemotherapeutic medicines and targeted agents.
