Optical wireless channel reciprocity-based temporal power allocation technique for FSO communications

摘要
We propose a temporal power allocation technique for optical transmitting power using the average limiting property of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier to secure the degradation of communication performance due to the turbulence effect of the FSO vertical link. Unlike the existing turbulence degradation prevention tech-nology, the FSO channel reciprocity-based pre-compensation technique proposed in this study can overcome degradation caused by strong channel fading and maintain the quality of the transmission signal through sufficient transmitted power. The proposed technique was demonstrated using simulations and experiments. The transmission performance was effectively enhanced by applying the proposed technique.
