摘要
Background: Since the early 1960s, the prevailing care planning approach has been the nursing process. However, difficulties remain in teaching and practicing this approach. This study investigated the effectiveness of blended teaching strategies on nursing students' care plan preparation skills.Method: A quasi-experimental, pre-post (historical controls) study was conducted with 186 first-year nurs-ing students (intervention: 83, control: 103). The intervention group completed the nursing process teaching with blended learning, an online course enriched with case studies and standardized patient video scenarios integrated with the traditional method for 14 weeks. The control group completed the teaching using only the traditional method. Results: Students in the intervention groups showed statistically significant differences in their care plan preparation skills. Conclusion: Blending the traditional method with an online course for the whole semester effectively supports teaching the nursing process and improves students' care planning skills.(c) 2023 Organization for Associate Degree Nursing.
