摘要
The functional and robust interactions with a wide range of analytes that poly(ionic liquids) have with a wide range of analytes have recently driven research interest in using them for sensing applications. The amalgamation of the unique physiochemical characteristics of ILs and the mechanical properties of polymers, such as strength, stiffness, and toughness, produces an enhancement material with both properties in one backbone. ILs and their polymers with a tunable character and numerous anions and cations can broaden the applicability of creating a suitable sensor for the target material. The following review article investigates the recent utilization of poly(ionic liquid) as a sensor for strain, environmental and biomolecules, harmful organic compounds, ions, and gases.
