摘要
Background: This study aims to report a rare case of neuropathy following Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In addition, we reviewed other cases of polyneuropathies after COVID-19. We compared their clinical manifestations, laboratory data, and demographical information. We also considered the management of post-COVID-19 polyneuropathy and other viral causes. Case presentation: This article reports a rare case of collateral Bell's palsy (BP) and sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL). A 46 -year -old man presented to the emergency ward with sudden onset right -sided palsy of all branches of the facial nerve and hearing loss in the left ear for 48 hours. Before developing neurologic symptoms, he had a documented COVID-19 a month ago. He had a right -sided facial droop with incomplete closure of his right eye and asymmetrical facial mimics. He also had decreased sensation along the right side of his face. Comprehensive audiometry showed SSNHL in his left ear. Conclusion: Many cases presented neurological manifestations subsequently to COVID-19. Cranial neuropathies usually remain undiagnosed and neglected since they are rare events. We reported the second case of simultaneous bell's palsy and sudden sensory neural hearing loss.
