摘要
The central argument of The Digital Pandemic: Imagination in Times of Isolation (2022), by Joao Pedro Cachopo, is that the transformation of human experience that began in the pandemic has ushered in a civilizational digital shock that creates a break in our sociality. Cachopo then pinpoints the key themes of love, travel, study, community, and art. It should be noted that, in this way, he is part of a long tradition of thinkers who dedicated themselves to discussing ethics based on mass culture and new technologies, such as Benjamin, Adorno and Horkheimer, Guy Debord, Baudrillard, Kittler, Virilio, Jonathan Crary, Umberto Eco, Didi-Huberman, among others. We reproduce here, in the original sequence, a revised transcription of the conversation between Joao Pedro Cachopo, Luciana Molina Queiroz, and Vitor Cei, which took place on September 10, 2021, in an event called "DebatePapo com Joao Pedro Cachopo - A torcao dos sentidos: pandemia e remediacao digital", the recording of which is available on the PPGL Ufes' YouTube channel.
