Controllable growth and magneto-resistivity investigations on Tl-1223 superconducting films with high Tc

摘要
Tl1Ba2Ca2Cu3O9 (Tl-1223), a high-temperature superconductor (HTS), has attracted increasing attention due to its high critical temperature (Tc), and exhibits excellent flux pinning properties in reducing electric consumption. However, it is still challenging for searching a controllable and repeatable synthetic approach to obtain Tl-1223 film with high Tc and strong flux pinning. Here, we report an improved method for preparing Tl-1223 films with Tc up to 118 K on LaAlO3 (001) substrates. As-obtained Tl-1223 films are observed with pure phase, smooth surface morphology, and regular texture crystallographic orientation. The magneto-resistivity results reveal the field-induced broadening behavior, and that the resistivity of the Tl-1223 films grows slowly as the external magnetic field increases. The Tc (0) of the Tl-1223 film is above 112.9 K, 84.2 K, and 69 K at 0 T (H || c-plane), 3 T, and 5 T, respectively. Based on the thermally activated flux motion (TAFM) model, we estimated the acti-vation energy (U0), which is in agreement with the power law curve as H-n. The high Tc and U0 of the Tl-1223 film suggest its potential for applications at high temperatures and strong magnetic fields. This study enriches the understanding of the fundamental physics research of Tl-1223 films and guides their further potential applications.
