摘要
This paper presents a highly linear and high gain down conversion mixer for ultra-wide band receivers for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The proposed mixer is based on UMC 180 nm technology and is intended for use in the sub-6 GHz radio frequency spectrum. To reduce the effective threshold voltage for low voltage operation, the forward body bias approach has been used with reverse biased diodes. It also reduces the leakage current and improves the noise figure. The modified derivative superposition technique has been employed in transconductance stage to improve the linearity (IIP3) by suppressing third order nonlinear components of the signal. The gm-boosting approach has also been used with the MDS technique to improve Conversion Gain (CG). CG of 17.95 dB, IIP3 of 38.2 dBm, and Noise Figure (NF) of 6.23 dB are achieved with the proposed design. This circuit operates at 0.9 V and consumes 1.89 mW of power.
