Night Soiree at CK: an experience of Cemetery Heritage Education aimed at Teaching History

In this work, we present a report on the experience of adapting the Sarau Noturno for students from high school in Bage, RS. The Sarau Noturno Heritage Education project was created in 2008 to value cemetery art. The event consists of a theatrical script that tells the story of Bage based on the tombs and symbolic representations from Santa Casa de Caridade of Bage cemetery. This script is mostly composed of monologues that mix the historical figures of Bage, with passages and characters from romantic literature. The Sarau Noturno is a well-known event, nationally and internationally, through its presentations and scientific production, built over the years. As it is a Heritage Education event, we consider it opportune to bring it to be re-enacted by the students from EEEM Dr Carlos Antonio Kluwe, contributing to the historical, literary, artistic and cultural formation of these young people. In addition to preserving the cemetery's cultural heritage and reconstituting part of the history of Bage and the region, the Sarau Noturno addresses topics related to gender issues and ethnic-social invisibility, which greatly contribute to citizenship formation and student protagonism.
