摘要
In the course of digitization, working from home has become increasingly important in Germany. While several studies emphasize the advantages of working from home, there are also indications of possible negative effects. In this article, we address the relationship between working from home and workaholism based on a sample of around 6,000 employees in Germany for the years 2017/2018. Applying regression analyses, we first show that workaholism is more likely among employees working from home than among people who do not work from home. Second, the analyses indicate possibilities for limiting the risk of addictive work at home: Workaholism is significantly less likely when the frequency of working from home is lower, under the conditions of a contractual telework agreement with the company and when there is the possibility of recognizing working hours when working from home.
