摘要
The relations between the EU and ASEAN are one of the most significant examples of the efforts undertaken by the European Union since it became a global actor in the 1990s. These relations have taken place, not without ups and downs, through different channels that are not completely independent, but also not related in a structured way. They have contributed, to a greater or lesser extent, not only to making dialogue, cooperation and exchanges between the two regions possible, but also to fostering the institutionalisation of the international system, multilateralism and the dynamics of global governance. At a difficult juncture such as the current one, characterised by the rise of the great powers, the situation and raison d'etre of these relations should be assessed. Despite the difficulties, they seem to be experiencing a moment of revival.
