摘要：

Based on the reflections of Maas (2001) and Mazzari (2018) regarding the formation novel genre, as well as of Duarte (2006), who categorized Poncia Vicencio, by Conceicao Evaristo, as an Afro-Brazilian Bildungsroman, this work intends to analyze the trajectory of the protagonist Poncia, highlighting aspects concerned to African diaspora when they come to the ethnic-racial reality of black Brazilian people: colonial violence, generational trauma, and the process of deconstruction of subjectivity. It also emphasizes Evaristos' concept of escrevivencia (life-writing) due to the representation of marginalized black citizens' social economic context through other characters that compose the plot.
