摘要
Center for Chronic Sick Children (SPZ) are assigned numerous practice-related tasks by the German Social Codes V and IX in order to provide a comprehensive biopsychosocial care approach to complex chronically ill children and adolescents with multidimensional impairments, such as developmental and behavioral disorders as well as disorders of social integration and participation. In the case of these special clinical pictures it is usually an SPZ with a university connection or larger pediatric hospitals with established internal medicine specialties (specialized outpatient clinics), in which the patients are treated according to the latest diagnostic and therapeutic (bio)medical possibilities or have access to innovative medicine. Complex chronically ill patients can successfully cope with life and participate socially in their families and communities only if the medical team, which usually works on an interdisciplinary basis, is also supported by a psychosocial team familiar with the clinical pictures.
