摘要
Since writing is a skill in high demand in academic and scientific contexts, the objective of this research was to determine the influence of a writing program on the ability to write an academic expository text by undergraduate university students. The program was elaborated from a didactic model of writing, proposed by the same author. The type of research is applied, with a quantitative approach, and follows a pre-experimental design. The sample consisted of 176 students in the first cycle of four professional programs or careers. Data collection was carried out by means of a rubric that demanded the writing of an academic expository text. The results showed that the program based on the didactic model significantly improved the writing competence of university students, by means of the Kruskal-Wallis statistical test, with a p value of 0.000 (p<0.05).
