摘要
Integrationof CO2 capture and CO2 conversionthrough electrochemical processes has emerged in recent years, offeringa distinct advantage over the traditional independent methods by obviatingthe costly capture media recovery and compression steps. This reviewaims to provide a comprehensive overview of this promising researcharea. State-of-the-art studies of strategies involving independentprocesses, coupling in a single electrolytic cell, and integrationinto two electrolytic cells for CO2 capture and conversionare discussed. Furthermore, the energy and production costs for threealternative methods are assessed and compared to highlight the benefitsof integration systems. In addition, our personal perspectives onthe challenges and opportunities in this emerging field, includingachieving high faradic efficiency and low cell voltage, seawater exploration, and membrane-less configuration for high-durability applications, are presented.
