摘要
Violence against women and girls remains a critical issue in Viet Nam. Women have suffered physical or sexual violence from their husbands throughout their lifetime, but this (especially sexual violence) has not been handled effectively for many reasons including legal gaps, culture, social norms, as well as the capacity of justice system. Being a member of CEDAW from 1982 and with the aim of achieving sustainable development goals, the Vietnamese government needs to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence and enable victims to access justice to claim their rights and legitimate interests. It is essential to identify the current issues around access to justice for victims of sexual abuse and find effective ways for Vietnam to handle these issues.
