摘要
The Grande Grammaire du francais (2021) systematically distinguishes between syntactic categories and functions. It is based on traditional syntactic categories, with the addition of the Participle category, which are precisely redefined. Phrases include clauses and are organized around one main element which is the head. Some of the functions constitute innovations relatively to usual grammars of French, as those of head and marker. On top of these syntactic terms, semantic notions as well as prosodic ones are added, such as connective, negator or group. As a tool for teaching purposes, GGF makes the link between its terminology and those used in the national school system.
