. This work aimed to investigate the effect of tranexamic acid (TXA) combined with cocktails on perioperative blood loss, postoperative pain and joint function in patients receiving total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Sixty patients receiving TKA were randomized into TXA and TXA+cocktails groups (30 patients in each group). During TKA, both groups used TXA for stop bleeding, and TXA+cocktails group additionally used cocktails. Compared with TXA group, in TXA+cocktails group the total blood loss, hidden blood loss and total drainage were obviously decreased, the postoperative hemoglobin decline value and hemoglobin decline rate in TXA+cocktails group were obviously decreased, the postoperative Visual Analogue Scale score was obviously decreased, and the postoperative knee joint motion score was obviously increased. The satisfaction rate in TXA+cocktails group was obviously higher than TXA group. In conclusion, for patients receiving TKA, TXA combined with cocktails can effectively reduce the perioperative blood loss, and relieve the postoperative pain, thus promoting the recovery of knee joint function.
