摘要
A narrowband fast tunable acousto-optic add-drop filter is proposed and demonstrated based on the acoustically induced birefringence of dispersion compensating fiber, which covers wavelengths from 1510 nm to 1590 nm. The single-wavelength filtering is successfully realized with bandwidth of around 5 nm, by peak fusion of the nearly degenerated coupling of the vector mode group with acousto-optic interaction length of smaller than 5 cm. The constructed filter has reconfigurable band-pass and band-rejection filtering characteristics, and obtains the advantages of narrow band, fast tuning speed, single wavelength, compact size, simple fabrication and zero frequency shift. It has potential applications in the fields of tunable lasers, wavelength division multiplexing optical communication and optical signal processing.
