Neoliberal restructuring in Colombia: an analysis from transnational legal pluralism

At the end of the 1980s, in several Latin American countries neoliberalism was presented as the only alternative to overcome the economic crisis caused by the increase in external debt. However, the deployment of neoliberalism implied the implementation of a significant number of structural reforms, which were presented by transnational economic and financial institutions. Thus, going to the review of different documentary and bibliographic sources, this article analyzes the neoliberal restructuring process in Colombia from the influence of a transnational legal production. Through the development of this research, it was possible to conclude that the economic policies coming from transnational economic and financial institutions have been incorporated into the state legal frameworks of Colombia with the purpose of facilitating the expansion of neoliberalism. In this way, in the neoliberal context, the old legal production carried out in the national sphere has gradually incorporated a legal production of a transnational nature.
