摘要
The influence of the size effect is investigated experimentally on unnotched 42CrMo4 + QT fatigue specimens of four configurations with different critical volumes. An investigation of external factors present during experiments is also carried out. The paper shows how complicated it is to analyze a single effect in fatigue experiments. The effects of uneven surface roughness, semi-product hardness across its cross-section or of residual stresses on the fatigue life of the specimens are discussed.
