Delaminated titaniun carbonitride MXene (d-Ti3CN) based symmetric supercapacitor (SSC) device fabrication with excellent capacitance and cyclic stability

摘要
Titanium carbonitride (Ti3CN) MXene has revealed a remarkable potential for energy storage applications because of its unique physicochemical properties. Herein, we have synthesized delaminated Ti3CN (d-Ti3CN) MXene by wet -chemical etching method using hydrofluoric acid to check its electrochemical performance for supercapacitors. The d-Ti3CN MXene delivered a high specific capacitance (Cs) of 260F/g at 1 A/g current density. This 2D material exhibited excellent capacitance retention of 84% at 5 A/g after 10,000 cycles. For practical application, a symmetric supercapacitor (SSC) using d-Ti3CN MXene delivers a Cs of 41F/g at 1 A/g current density. All these notable results indicate Ti3CN MXene has huge potential for high-performance supercapacitors.
