摘要
Organic compounds with near-IR (NIR) fluorescence have many potential applications in materials and life sciences, but the much weaker intensity of fluorescence in the NIR region than in the UV-visible region is a major obstacle. Herein we show that deuteration of phthalocyanines, a representative class of organic NIR dyes, increases both the fluorescence quantum yield and the fluorescence lifetime compared with nondeuterated phthalocyanines.
