In this study, we prepared a PPS hollow fiber membrane using green porogenic agents, which did not involve any diluent. The trend of stress variation with stretching ratio was analyzed in detail, and the influence of the coupling of calcium chloride (CaCl2) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) on the formation of the membrane was explained. The prepared PPS hollow fiber membrane exhibited good ethanolophilicity and a narrow pore size distribution. The PPS hollow fiber membrane had good liquid and gas permeability. The results showed that the prepared PPS membranes had good performance in protein separation applications (>= 80%) and high breaking strength (24.7-34.2 MPa). The rejection rate of activated sludge, silicon dioxide (SiO2) and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) were 99%, and the rejection rate of Direct Black 19 (D19) dye was 93%. In addition, the prepared hollow fiber membrane has excellent resistance to acid, alkali, high temperature, and polar solvents. We found that the permeability and selectivity of the membranes treated at high-temperature, acid, alkali, and organic solvent, respectively, did not change much. Therefore, the prepared PPS hollow fiber membranes have the potential to be used for water treatment in an extreme environment.
