The effect of dry/wet ratios on the corrosion process of the 6061 Al alloy in simulated Nansha marine atmosphere

摘要
The fluctuations of dry/wet is crucial to the corrosion process under a thin electrolyte film. In this study, the influence of the dry/wet time ratios on the atmospheric corrosion process of the 6061 Al alloy was investigated. Increasing the wetting time promoted the intragranular corrosion, giving rise to the highest corrosion rate at the constant RH of 90%, which was 0.275 g.m(-2).d(-1). Quasi-in-situ observation results revealed the intragranular corrosion was closely related to the iron-enriched particles in the matrix. This study also provided some theoretical guidance for the accelerated simulation tests of Al alloys in the marine atmosphere.
