Synthesis, crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of di-μ2-iodido-bis[(2,2'-biquinoline-κ2N,N')copper(I)]

摘要
The molecular and crystal structures of the title compound, [Cu2I2(C18H12N2)(2)], were examined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and Hirshfeld surface analysis. The Cu atom is coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral geometry by two N atoms from the 2,2'-biquinoline ligands and the two mu(2)-bridging iodide ligands. The molecules are in contact via pi-pi-stacking interactions. Hirshfeld surface analysis showed that the most important contributions to the intermolecular interactions are H center dot center dot center dot H (39.7%), H center dot center dot center dot I/I center dot center dot center dot H (17.8%), C center dot center dot center dot H/H center dot center dot center dot C (17.5%), C center dot center dot center dot C (16.5%), N center dot center dot center dot C/C center dot center dot center dot N (3.9%) and N center dot center dot center dot H/H center dot center dot center dot N (3.5%).
