A-site isovalent substitution effect in the double manganites Nd1-xSmxBaMn2O6

摘要
Solid solutions of ordered double manganites Nd1?xSmxBaMn2O6 are reviewed. The diagram of electric and magnetic states is reported. The temperatures of charge-orbital ordering and metal-insulator phase transitions are monotonic functions of Sm concentration. With 10-20 % Sm content, the coexistence of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions leads to complex magnetic properties. Between x = 0.1 and x = 0.25 at room temperature two phases coexist: conductor with orthorhombic Pmmm structure and insulator with pseudotetragonal P4/mmm structure. The decrease of the N e ' el temperature for x = 0.2-0.5 is explained by a competition between A- and CE- types antiferromagnetic ordering.
