摘要
This study aimed to examine the mediating role of professional commitment and the moderating role of role overload in the employee strengths use (ESU) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) relation. A total of 215 Chinese employees working in China completed our questionnaires at three points in time, and we adopted structural equation modeling and path analysis to test our hypotheses. This study found that professional commitment partially mediates the relationship between ESU and OCB, and role overload negatively moderates the ESU and professional commitment relation and the indirect relationship of ESU with OCB via professional commitment. This study provides a new perspective of understanding the ESU-OCB relationship and helps find out pathway of promoting OCB to a greater degree.
