Binary Solution Behavior for the Trimethoxyphenylsilane and Trimethylphenylsilane Under CO2 as Supercritical Fluid

A synthetic approach has been employed to examine the phase behavior curves of solution mixtures involving trimethoxyphenylsilane (TMOPS) and trimethylphenylsilane (TMPS) with supercritical CO2 at high pressure. This investigation has been conducted across an array of temperatures spanning from 313.2 to 393.2 K, and pressures reaching up to 21.86 MPa. In particular, the binary systems involving CO2 + TMOPS and CO2 + TMPS have been studied. In both of these binary systems, critical mixed curves are observed, exhibiting a maximum within the pressure-temperature space. This maximum is situated among the critical temperatures of CO2 and the respective TMOPS or TMPS compound. Notably, both of these binary systems showcase type I phase behavior. Utilizing the Patel-Teja equation of state along with Van der Waals mixing rules in theoretical analysis, solubility curves have been generated. The assessment between predicted and experimental outcomes for the CO2 + TMOPS and CO2 + TMPS binary systems displays a satisfactory level of agreement, signifying the effectiveness of the Patel-Teja equation of state.
