摘要
Carley et al. (2022) use zircon/melt partitioning (Kd) developed for natural felsic systems (bulk-rock 66–77 wt% SiO2; Claiborne et al., 2018) to constrain zircon-modeled melt compositions from which Hadean to early Archean zircons crystallized. In addition, the modeled-melt rare earth element (REE) patterns are used as indicators of the geodynamic environment of Hadean zircon crystallization by comparison with calculated and measured melts from different modern geodynamic environments. However, we wish to discuss the following points. © 2023 Geological Society of America. For permission to copy, contact Copyright Permissions, GSA, or editing@geosociety.org.
