摘要
In pressure-atomized sprays, the liquid droplets andthe gas inthe two-phase flow field may exhibit self-similar properties, so thatthe spray flow as a whole may be described as self-similar. This descriptionis used to model the mass transfer from the droplets to the ambientgas by evaporation of the droplet liquid. The concentration of thevapor phase is described as the solution of the related transportequation in a self-similar form. The self-similar transform of themass source of vapor representing the effect of droplet evaporationis compared against profiles obtained from the Fro''ssling correlationfor the Sherwood number as a function of the Schmidt and Reynoldsnumbers. The vapor concentration at the droplet surface depends onthe droplet temperature, which converges to the wet-bulb temperaturedetermined by the local vapor content of the ambient air and the dry-bulbair temperature. The self-similar structure of the vapor concentrationfield and the respective vapor source are determined.
