摘要
Transplant recipients are at increased risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) morbidity and mortality. In this issue, Meziyerh and colleagues(1) reported that higher exposures to mycophenolic acid measured by area under the curve (AUC) correlated with diminished quantitative antibody responses and seroconversion rates to mRNA-based coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination in kidney transplant recipients. These results provide a compelling rationale for future investigations on the role of mycophenolic acid therapeutic drug monitoring and dose modulation for improving vaccine responses in transplant recipients.
