摘要
The book under review aims to help readers who do not have solid statistical knowledge to apply basic and key statistical principles and methods in corpus studies. It serves both as an overview of cutting-edge statistical methods of linguistic analysis using corpora and a step-by-step guide to conducting simple yet conclusive statistical analysis of corpus data, using various new visualization techniques to present research results with graphs and charts. This review introduces the statistical methods, research procedures, visualization tools, and case studies discussed in each chapter of the book and comments on its merits and demerits.
