摘要
This article explores the literary figure of the narrator in the Gospel of Matthew by employing the presuppositions and tools of narrative criticism. From the perspective of the implied reader, the paper examines the narrator's characteristics, focusing on his omniscient and intrusive report. Also, the article analyses the informative data the narrator uses when telling the story, noting knowledge and narrative gaps in specific scenes. The paper concludes by inquiring about the relationship that exists between the narrator and the narratee, speculating what can we really know about her/his literarily.
