摘要：
We have described a previously unreported entity ofan intussuscepted neuroendocrine carcinoma of theappendix.Our patient was a 70-year-old man whoseonly complaint was insipient weight loss.Colonoscopyshowed a malignant cecal“polyp”,and an extended righthemicolectomy was performed.We have reviewed theliterature on the causes of appendiceal intussusceptionand their appropriate treatment options,and clarifiedthe classification of neuroendocrine tumors of thegastrointestinal tract.
