Towards a Process Approach to Writing in China

The teaching of writing in China has been running along the traditional track for decades, remaining immune to teaching innovations elsewhere in the world. This, at least partially, accounts for the underdeveloped writing skills on the part of our students. The Process Approach to teaching writing, with its emphasis on student writers' writing process rather than their finished products, has a role to play in improving students' thinking process as well as their writing skills.
