The Changchun Institute oF AppliedChemistry(CIAC),Academia Sinica,wasround at the end of 1948.In 1953,the divisionsoF this Institute were combined with Insti-tute of Physical Chemistry from Shanghai.Since then it has been gradually developedinto the present status,one of the chemis-try research institutes of the Academia Si-nica,composed of Four departments (Poly-mer and Polymer Physics;Physical Chemis-try;Inorganic Chemistry and Analytical Che-mistry;and Structure Chemistry)with about650 researchers and assistants.
