A Review of Contents and Methods of Cultural Teaching Research in China

Language is the carrier of culture as well as the main forms of culture.Language can not be separated from culture while culture depends on language.English teaching is the language teaching.It,of course,includes cultural teaching.In recent twenty years,Chinese scholars have made a lot studies about cultural teaching,which mainly involves in the content of cultural teaching and the methods of culture teaching.This paper centres on these two subjects,collects all articles about them written by Chinese researcher from important English journals as well as monographs,and makes a review of them so as to get a clear picture about the focus as well as the shortcomings of these studies.This provides a backcloth for future researchers.
