摘要：

Jane Austen,one of the most influential female novelists in the history of world literature,is the first female to break up the monopoly of male writing.Her famous work Pride and Prejudice was created in 1813,which gained her lasting fame and popularity.In this novel,the characters of the four ladies are impressive:Jane is mild;Charlotte is mediocre;Lydia is ignorant;Elizabeth is wise.Different characters result in different marriages which are moral marriage,utilitarian marriage,sex-oriented marriage and perfect marriage.Through the analysis of the characters and these four marriages,this thesis aims to conclude Jane Austen’s Perception of Marriage,that is,character determines marriage.
