摘要：

As an English teacher for non-English majors in a college in Wuhan,I find that most of my students are not interested in learning English.Thus,I am concerned about how to stimulate my students’ motivation in learn- ing English.This paper discusses some effective strategies to stimulate college non-English majors’ motivation for learning English,such as creating a comfortable atmosphere,building students’ confidence,promoting coopera- tive learning,and incorporating the multiple intelligences concept in the classroom.These strategies do have practical application in my classroom and have motivated my students’ interest in English learning.
