HYBRID DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR RESOURCE ALLOCATION

The static resource allocation problem is studied in this paper. A model for theresource allocation problem is set up based on the information provided by harddata and soft data. The hard data is based on the cross-sectional tables from day today operation and soft data is based on the experiences of managers. Then anonlinear optimization algorithm with constraints is employed to make an optimalresource allocation decision.An interactive software package is developed for the hybrid decision supportsystem which is applied to the airline tickets allocation problem. An optimal ticketsallocation decision is made to result in 23% profit increase. This package can beapplied to a large group of resource allocation problems.
