Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

The Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies (IUE) of CASS (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) was originated from the Research Center for Urban Development and Environment (RCUDE),which was established in 1994,and in 1997 became an independent legal entity under CASS,engaging in academic and policy oriented research.RCUDE was upgraded and renamed as IUE by CASS in February 2009,and approval was receivedfrom the Central Government in September of the same year.
