<正> Preliminary results of aeroelastic tailoring of a wing of medium aspect ratio,medium sweptback angle constructed with composite skin and metal frames arepresented. The composite skin is modeled with quadrilateral plates of orthotropicmaterial. Tsai-Hill failure theory is used in fully stressed design of the compositeskin, and uniform derivative criteria are used in the optimization with respect toflutter speed and aileron effectiveness. Preliminary results indicate the feasibility ofthe method, and reasonable results are achieved by a few steps of redesign.
