QSARs (Quantitative structure-activity relationships) can provide correlations between the toxicity of a chemical and the physicochemical descriptors of the chemical. They can stimulate the development of toxicity data by allowing estimations of toxicity to an organism to be made based on easily measured or calculated characteristics.
