摘要
This paper identifie s and discusses three main factors in Chinese ESL graduate students’ academic writing — plagiarism, the issue of cross culture and language prof iciency, which could lead them to a disadvantage compared with native speakers of English. It aims to make ESL graduate student writers critically aware of how they have been culturally constructed in their practice of academic writing. Some strategies are presented to overcome these diff iculties, based on the author’s teaching experience in academic writing.
