摘要：

In this paper, we propose an self describing scheme for interoperable image /video content descriptions, which can accommodate the objective of MPEG 7 standard. The objective of this standard is to maximize content focused multimedia applications. In order to provide full interoperability and flexibility, we use the eXtensible Markup Language( XML ) to express the self describing scheme. We will demonstrate the flexibility and efficiency of our self describing scheme.
